To Whom It May Concern

I'm 100% sick of teachers who feel like they can't give everyone in the class an A, so they give everyone in the class a B so they look like a better teacher.
If I did work that deserves an A then give me an A! And if you are giving me a B, don't give me the excuse that "I can't give everyone an A", that is just stupid!
Plus, don't throw me into the deep end of the pool without giving me swimming lessons and expect me not to drown!
I'm ANNOYED!!

Mood Music

I'm a fan of classical music.
I often listen to classical music, or John Williams type stuff while I'm studying.
(ok, i'm sure I didn't fool many of you will the whole "studying" bit, but I do enjoy listening to music while I'm doing homework, namely writing papers)
So I'm doing a paper for scripture study class and we are supposed to visualize what is happening in the scriptures by means of asking questions, looking for details, stuff like that.
Well I'm sitting here listening to music and the theme from Jurassic Park comes on and it gets to a really dramatic part right when I read this verse in 3Nephi 11:

"8 And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they asaw a Man bdescending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them..."

And it was kind of funny, because I'm pretty sure the part in the song I was on is when the helicopter is descending onto the island, and it kind of gave me a funny visual.
I guess it isn't all that funny at all, but if you were in my room at that moment you might have shared my thoughts.

not in front of grandma!

I'm a member of the Republican National Committee,
which basically means I get a calendar, a pad of paper, and lots of annoying "donate your money" letters and emails.
Today I was checking my email and the subject of the email I received from the "Grand Ole' Party" was:
Americans are TEA'D - Taxed Enough Already!

I couldn't quite figure out what the heck Tea'd was until I realized that it is what I used to say before I learned the word pissed.
I understand that a number of people don't appreciate the use of the word "pissed", which reminded me of this comedian Nick Swardson.
This guy (like most stand-up comedians) has some really funny stuff.
One of his bits is about how when our generation gets older, there will be no dignity left.
Think about it- Our grandparents are so innocent and quaint. There are certain words or phrases you can't say around them because it offends them.
I, like Nick, wonder what we will be offended to hear as we get older.
Maybe Nick's prediction is correct, that we are such a corrupt generation that there will be no dignity left when we get to be grandparents.

Either way, it is funny that the republican national committee actually used the word Tea'd in the subject line of their email.

Train of Thought

As I lay in my bed, not sleepy but trying to sleep nonetheless, I began to think of how disappointed I am in the new razor I bought. My legs feel smooth and shaven, but they don't look smooth and shaven. I began to ponder how I could get a smooth shaven look and I decided I should try to wax them.I wax my eyebrows all the time and am pleased with my results. I understand that waxing might be painful, but I have a high tolerance for pain, and I think the outcome would outweigh the pain.
Then I started thinking about how much I love the feeling of jumping into bed after freshly shaving my legs. I thought about why I love it so much and realized it was because of the cool temperature of the untouched bed.
This led me to think of a commercial I saw for Hampton Inn and Suites that said something to the effect of "we're as refreshing as the cool crisp side of the pillow" which made me fall in love with Hampton Inn and Suites because I love the cool crisp side of my pillow.Which led me to think of a pillow I saw in a store that was a "cool" pillow. It was guaranteed to always be cool which I loved!
Which got me to thinking that I should invent a "cool mattress" because I love cool beds.Which got me to thinking of another invention I've been thinking of which is a fridge where the outside doors are white boards. Wouldn't that be handy? It could still be magnetic, but also a white board so you could write on it whatever.
Then I started thinking about how I should let someone know about my invention idea because it always seems like I think of something handy (like the extension on the visor in a car because sometimes the visor isn't wide enough) someone invents and then when I say "I totally thought of that a long time ago" I look like a poser. And that is the train of thought that got me here.

That Old Serpant....

Today in my scriputre study class we were talking about symbolism and why, for example, in the Bible Satan is often refered to as "That Old Serpant" instead of just Satan or the Devil.

We started talking about snakes and all the things we know about snakes and the symbols of snakes.

My teacher told us a story about a girl he knew who had a pet snake and the snake stopped eating, so the girl took the snake to the vet to see why it wasn't eating anymore. The vet asked if the snake had done anything else unusual and the girl said that everytime she put the snake on her bed (because the snake, more often then not, would take naps with her and sleep in the same bed) it would stretch out all the way instead of being coiled. The vet informed her that the snake was stretching itself to measure her, and was not eating because it was starving itself so it could EAT HER! He didn't tell us what kind of snake it was, and that doesn't matter! It wasnted to EAT HER!
Creepy? Yes!!!!

Before I Die I Will.....

A long time ago I noticed my best friend was always saying "I'm going to do____before I die." Or, "That's on my list of things to do before I die."
Well inspired by all of those statements, for Christmas a few years ago I bought her this book:
It's really fun, and each "thing to do" has a little box next to it so you can check off your progress.
Well one of the "things" is "Buy This Book". So...to solve that problem (and include another person in the fun) she bought our friend Lydia the book and Lydia bought me the book.
I've been anxiously engaged in finishing my book.
This last summer Lydia and I learned a new word every day. I made chocolate chip pancakes, and lots more.
Right now, I'm working on not making my bed for a whole month.
It's difficult because my room could be perfectly clean but feel so messy because my bed isn't made. Normally, if my room is a mess, I'll make my bed and call it a day.
Whatever, I'm sure I can handle it until April 1st.

Is There A Blessing For A Sewing Machine?

Name that movie!

Here are the pants I made!!
I got an 'A'! I am so excited about them. The pictures didn't turn out so hot, it would probably look better if they were on someone, but alas they are not.
I worked really hard and did it all by myself! I didn't ask for help which I thought was going to earn me a bad grade, but it didn't!

Where Did The Years Go?

Is it just me or does time really seem to fly these days?
I can't help but think I missed out on something great because time is flying so quickly.
I'm not 80 or anything (shout out to Grandma on June 11th) but I am 23, and I feel like because time is moving so quickly, I've missed out on something.
Benjamin Button had it made! Getting younger and cuter as years went on.
Look at what happened to me as I got older.

I went from this cute little girl:

to this....person:

In 23 very short years!
Isn't that just sad!
Why can't I be cute and little when I'm old enough to appreciate it.
It kind of makes me feel like a failure at some aspect of my life.
I have lived 23 years and have nothing to show for it!
It's like working for 23 years and having no money, or nothing to prove that you've done anything.

Photo Time

Here are some pictures I've taken for my photography class. We had to do fruit, black and white shapes and forms, and black and white nature.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

The other day I was helping a friend carry groceries into her house and I tripped and fell down the stairs.
It resulted in a sore ankle.
It's not broken, just bruised.
And the potential worst part is that I was carrying a bag of groceries that carried chips, and as I fell I twisted my foot and sat on it AND the bag of chips.
Oops...

A Sequal To My Story

Well good news! My comptuer cord MAGICALLY started charging again!!

BUT...in its place, my alarm clock stopped working.

It used to project the time up on the wall but it quit, and the numbers on the face of the clock don't show up completely.
